Interweave Knits Spring 2007
Thank you for all the sweet Happy Birthday wishes to my Hubby. He smiled with each comment.
So, did you hear that the new Interweave came out? Which one will you be knitting? Is it the thong (yikes!!)?
How about Eunny Jang's Entralac Socks? I've been dying to make these super fun socks - and of course, I would jump at the chance to dress like a court jester (I'm serious about that).
Or the Rib & Lace Tank by Jodi Green (here's the back). Can I get you opinion on the boobie rib design? Does it seem like the circle design around the boob draws too much attention? I need to check myself because I've been known to be a bit prudish.
The Bonsai Tunic by Norah Gaughan is super flattering & knit with a nice soft bamboo fiber.
I'm not sure how I feel about the Eyelet Rib Bandeau by Katy Ryan. Do I have the confidence to rock a tube top over a t-shirt? It has the required Anthropologie feel, but honestly, it looks like this girl's dad insisted on her "covering up" a little more before "leaving the house", resulting in a disgruntled teenager throwing a t-shirt under a perfectly cute tube top.
Ooh, and don't forget the Clementine Shawlette. Gorgeous. Gorgeous. Gorgeous. I even like this beautiful sherbet color. Yum.
The Swan Lake Cardigan is ingenious & fem. I might just need to make this one in a 1970's shade of yellow for my spring wardrobe. Can you picture it with a grey pencil skirt? I mean, seriously, how kulle is that tulle? This is by one of my favorite designers (& fellow Sacramentan), Joan McGowan-Michael.
The Dollar and a Half Cardigan by Veronik Avery is unique with it's vertical front & horizontal back detailing.
I only chose a few here of my favorites (I'm obviously into lace these days, don' cha know).
But I'm curious to know, which one will you be knitting?
P.S. Thank you for all the compliments on my shoes. Gosh, whenever I need a little love - I go to you all!! I have a little idea with those shoes....more on that in another post.

Now my favorites are the Dollar and a Half Cardigan and the Bonsai Tunic. I like the Swan Lake cardigan, but without the tulle.

There are a lot of great knits this time around. Actually IK always has a bunch of things I would like to knit. I do think I am going to pass on the lingerie items. That's just too much for me. The one thing I'm not happy about with this issue is how they are laying it out now. I always liked that the big pic of the knit was with the pattern. Now it's like VK's layout, which I think looks more cluttered. I dunno. I do like the Bonsai Tunic, Slanted Neck Pullover (a lot!), Clementine Shawlette, and Glampyre's sweater- Cabled down Raglan. Just to name a few. I think the only one I'll be able to knit and fit into right now is the Shawlette!

Ooohhhh--good to know the magazine is out and available for purchase:)
I am really loving the Bonsai Tunic, the Clementine Shawlette (I have a thing about shawls), and the Swan Lake Cardigan.

yes I think the rib and lace tank is just crying out for ta-ta tassles! I vote that you knit the Dollar and a Half cardigan. I'll probably be doing one of the pairs of socks....

I like the bonsai tunic, entrelac socks and the dollar & half cardie. The rib & lace tank's design definitely draws to much attention to the bust - it crosses the line a bit for me. Oh and the slanted neck pullover - that looks very interesting.

Wow the dollar and a half cardigan looks really comfy... and yes the rib tank looks like it makes ones' breasts into bullseyes...
ugh the magazine is available for purchase, but as a subscriber I probably wont see it until april!

I completely hear you about the silly boob ribbing on the Rib & Lace Tank. It could have been a really cute knit. I'm really lusting after the Cable Down Raglan myself.

I was JUST at B&N a half hour ago and I didn't see it!

I went to the bookstore today and didn't see a new issue! :( boohoo. The boob rib is for someone flat chested or someone who really wants to show of the twins. Might as well make it a Madonna-esque bustier! I also don't like the tube over t-shirt thing. The shawl is yummy. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for previewing this... I might just have to order this issue next week when I get paid!! There are a lot of really beautiful patterns in yarns I love here.

Eyelet Rib Bandeau - do not wear in public as pictured. It's a 'what were they thinking'?! The Rib and Lace Tank boobie ribbing takes a little guts to wear but looks great for those who like to draw attention to the girls - and a very flattering fit over all. Love the Clementine shawl and Dollar and a Half.

I got my new issue in the mail this week, but haven't had a time to savor it yet. I'm saving it for my Saturday morning cup of coffee...
I'm not at all a fan of that ribbing pattern on the Rib and Lace Tank, not even over small breasts. Of course, I'm stacked, so it would look utterly ridiculous on me. I love that Bonsai Tank, though. Thanks for the preview!

I just knitted my gauge swatch for the bonsai tunic this afternoon. I'm LOVING the yarn! Have fun deciding which to knit first.

I don't think the bandeau looks terrible over the T-shirt, but it would look better over a collared shirt, like an alternative to wearing a vest. I think. I still want to make it because it is wee and cute. :)

I'm a guy. In my opinion the items that look best here are the $1.50 cardigan (I'm making one right now for my girlfriend), Swan Lake cardigan and the bonsai tunic.
I find the boob ribbing on the rib & lace tank very unflattering. The bandeau looks too much like the sweater is not finished yet (it would be so easy to make straps for this, though). And the idea of a knit thong just sounds like some cruel chastity device that princesses would have been forced to wear in the middle ages to ensure they never had sex. I will admit, however, that I thought the other knit lingerie featured in the magazine was very nice looking.

I agree about the rib and lace tank, but I'm a bit of a prude too. I do love it though, especially the length. I was thinking I would either do it in stockinette, or maybe 3x1 rib, or just drop it straight down from the ribbing (because I think the top part looks cool) but that might look too maternity-ish..
